UNCT WORKING GROUP ON HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

The Working Group on Human Resource Development seeks to enhance UN capacity to monitor, assess and pursue progress in pursuing the Millennium Development Goals. Increased awareness of the Millennium Declaration and the MDG is also targeted.

Collaboration in Eradicating Poverty and Hunger

The Task Force on Child Labour (ILO-led with UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, ILO-IPEC, UNESCO) initiated a regional side meeting on UN programmes on child trafficking during an ILO/IPEC conference. The event provided UN agencies an opportunity to share experiences among themselves—both for those working in the Philippines and in Asia.

Improving Maternal Health

The Task Force on Adolescent Youth (UNFPA-led with WHO, ILO, UNAIDS, UNIC, UNICEF) developed a joint proposal on Adolescent and Youth Health Development with Government and nongovernment organizations.
